Maciuszkiewicz Roman

He was born in 1955 in Katowice. Painter, graphic artist, author of texts on art and prose texts. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Katowice Branch of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. He received his diploma in 1980. In 1993-2001 he co-edited the bimonthly cultural magazine Opcje. Since 2002 he has been a lecturer at the Institute of Art of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. In 2002-2009 he lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. He is mostly engaged in painting. Since some time he has been making individual presentations and constructing them thematically. More important of them are: Metropolis, Dream Factory, Imagination, Symmetry, Night, There... . He place his works in cycles that complement each other, permeate each other and are a pretext for developing new themes. In the 1990s he briefly dealt with performance and art objects, collaborating with the group"4" . (M. Kamieński, R. Kalarus, L. Jaszczuk).
