She was born in 1955 in Kraków. She studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. She received her diploma in 1980 under the supervision of Prof. Jan Szancenbach. "Painting is my escape from reality," says Lucyna Patalita. In fact, her paintings are like an invitation to the bygone world, which is populated by figures that look as if they were taken from a family album. Her works are usually arranged in cycles.
