He was born in 1930. He studied art history at the Jagiellonian University (diploma in 1954) and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (diploma in the studio of Professor A. Marczyński in 1955). He deals with painting, sculpture, set design, book illustration and tapestry design. Author of illustrations and graphic design for over 100 books for children and adults published in Poland and 60 books published abroad. He has participated in many group and individual exhibitions around the world. He has won many prestigious awards.
