He was born in 1937, died in 1998. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warszawa and received his diploma in Aleksander Kobzdej's studio in 1963. Since then he has been a teacher at his alma mater and since 1987 a professor. At the same time he was engaged in painting, drawing, workshop graphics in metal techniques and lithography, as well as applied graphics. Around 1965 he definitively rejected previous artistic experiences and focused on figurative art. In his multi-layered representations, he used quotations, discussed with artistic conventions and habits, setting interesting areas of reference for his autonomous work.
